Board Elections

We’ll be electing four Board members at this year’s meeting, and we’ve already received four applications. Three current Board members are running for re-election, and one new candidate is stepping up to serve.

There’s also a chance for additional nominations. If someone would like to run for the Board, they can be nominated from the floor during the meeting, as long as they’re present and willing to accept the nomination before the election begins.

Notice, Proxy, & Absentee Ballot

Keep an eye out for the Annual Meeting notice arriving in your mailbox soon! Inside, you’ll find two important items:

  • Proxy Form

This lets you authorize another homeowner to vote on your behalf in the board election at the annual meeting.

*Proxy Deadline: Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

  • Absentee Ballot

This is specifically for voting for or against the proposed Declaration amendment. If you’re unable to attend the meeting in person, you can still make your voice heard by submitting this ballot.

*Absentee Ballot Deadline: Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

You can return your completed forms by:

  • Emailing them to: lakepointe@coherelife.com
  • Dropping them off at: Lake Pointe Community Center (11700 Sonoma Dr.)
  • Mailing them to: 11700 Sonoma Dr., Austin, TX 78738

Proposed Declaration Amendment

The absentee ballot includes a vote on a proposed amendment to the Declaration. If approved, this amendment will:

  • Permit the installation of non-reflective standing seam metal roofs
  • Incorporate City of Austin building requirements for fire-resistant roofing

The following language will be added to Article 3.14 of the Ninth Amended and Restated Declaration:

A roof may also be constructed of non-reflective standing seam metal, slate, clay or concrete tile, the composition and color of which must be expressly approved by the Architectural Committee before installation. For any new roof installation, the following requirements shall apply: (1) roofs with composition shingles must be Class-A Fire Rated for new construction and reroofing; (2) all gable, soffit and roof vents should be Class-A Fire Rated; and (3) all metal vents must be covered with non-combustible corrosion-resistant mesh with openings that are 1/8-inch (3.3 mm) or less, or must be designed and approved to prevent flame or ember penetration into the structure.
