July 4th Celebration Canceled

We had a whole lot of silly, splashy fun planned, but Mother Nature hit pause.

With storms in the forecast and puddles already forming, we’ve had to make the tough call to cancel this year’s Independence Day celebration.

We held out hope, watched the radar like hawks, and even considered bribing the clouds with Cool Whip, but no luck.

Thanks for understanding, and here’s to sunnier skies and future fun. Stay safe and have a happy Independence Day!

UPDATE! Informational Meeting to Discuss the Upcoming Lake Pointe Wastewater Treatment Plant Public Meeting

When: Monday, July 14, 6pm

Where: Lake Pointe Community Center

The HOA will host an informational meeting with our attorney to discuss what you need to know before the official meeting on July 17th when the WTCPUA and TCEQ will listen to our concerns about the Lake Pointe wastewater treatment plant 5-year permit renewal. Please join us for this important meeting to learn how you can help make our voices heard.

Background:

During the past year, the Lake Pointe HOA and affected residents have been working with the plant owner, West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA), to try to resolve on-going maintenance and odor issues at the plant. The WTCPUA board has stated that its goal is to decommission our plant. Therefore, we have asked the WTCPUA to create a plan and schedule to decommission the Lake Pointe plant within the next 3-5 years and move its current wastewater operation to the Bohl's Treatment plant on Bee Cave Parkway. To date, we have not seen a schedule, budget, or plan for that endeavor.

Due to the significant amount of public interest received, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has scheduled a Public Meeting for neighbors to provide input or ask questions about the Lake Pointe Wastewater Treatment plant's 5-year permit renewal application. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 7pm at the Sonesta Hotel in the Hill Country Galleria.

During the Formal Comment Period of the meeting, members of the public may orally state their comments into the official record. These formal comments will be considered before the TCEQ reaches a decision on the permit application.

Office closure

The Community Life office will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We’ll reopen on Monday, July 7th.
