Nature Centre on track for 2025 completion!

The Scanlon Creek Nature Centre project is advancing well along an aggressive timeline. Aiming to complete construction and open for programming by the end of 2025, we have wrapped up the Detailed Design stage – the 3rd Phase of the project. Our architect circulated a complete set of drawings for review, including the building and all its components and the surrounding landscape.

An application has been made to the Town of Bradford for a Site Plan Approval, and the architects have begun preparation of the Construction Drawings so that we can start the procurement process to hire our General Construction Contractor.

The details of the project are coming together nicely, and the new home of our Education Program is really beginning to take shape. With a focus on providing four classrooms and support spaces for our school-aged students, the facility will also provide space for professional training sessions, community programs, board meetings and other staff functions.

The building has been designed to be fully accessible, inclusive, energy-efficient and net-zero for Carbon, and incorporated input from Indigenous partners. The building will become a teaching tool, providing a teaching environment set into the natural surroundings.

We look forward to bringing further updates and sharing the design details as we move into the next phase of this exciting initiative! Checkout our project website.
