Resolution Expressing Intent to Join Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency


Last month the Village Board received a formal update on proposed project phasing, infrastructure improvements, and costs with providing Lake Michigan water to Lake Zurich and potential funding options. The proposed Resolution provides an exclusive engagement for the Village to move forward with the intention of becoming a full member of the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency

Courtesy Review for Proposed Chipotle Mexican Grill at 442 South Rand Road


The owners of the out lot at 442 South Rand Road at the southeast corner of Route 22 and Rand Road seek to construct a new Chipotle Mexican Grill.


The current proposal consists of a new 2,370 square-foot freestanding restaurant with pick-up lane and patio with outdoor seating. This is an initial courtesy review for the community to consider the use at this location.

Sunset Pavilion Opening Monday

Sunset Pavilion at Breezewald Park on the eastern shores of the lake is excited to open to the community on Monday, May 15. The menu includes wines and craft beers, flatbreads and sandwiches, small bites and desserts.

Lake Zurich Memorial Day Ceremony on May 29

The Lake Zurich American Legion Post #964 will host a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Lake Zurich Veterans Monument in front of the Police Station.


Memoria Day is a U.S. holiday held to honor those who have died while service in the military. There are different wats to celebrate Memorial Day, but these three are common and easy to do....

Beaches Open Memorial Day Weekend

Lake Zurich beach season kicks off in two short weeks. Daily beach opening times vary and are weather dependent. Due to limited lifeguard staffing the wibit inflatables will not be part of the 2023 season. For up-to-date beach status, click here


Paulus Park Beach

Paulus Park Beach is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2023 and close Labor Day weekend.


Breezewald Park Beach

Breezewald Beach is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend May 30, 2023 and close August 6, 2023.

Lake Zurich Mayor and Lake Zurich Chef Face-Off

An attempt to set the Guinness World Record for Fastest Time to Play a Game of Pickleball in all 48 Contiguous States.


Stop #27 and representing Illinois in this world record attempt will be Lake Zurich, IL. Not only will it be a homecoming for Dean who hails from Illinois but he will also be playing local dignitaries for a great cause. Lake Zurich Mayor Tom Poynton and Masato Suzuki (Chef and owner of DJ Bistro in Lake Zurich) will play for two local charities including Emmaus House of Hospitality which supports local residents facing food insecurity and A Safe Place which provides services addressing domestic violence and human trafficking.


Raceway Car Wash of Lake Zurich is sponsoring the event with $3,000 going to the organization represented by the winning team and $2,000 going to the organization represented by the "other" team.


Come see this special event on May 17th at 3:00pm at the Foglia YMCA at 1025 N Old McHenry Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
