COVID-19 UPDATES & RESOURCES
EDUCATION AND ENFORCEMENT INITIATIVE IN SIMCOE MUSKOKA
The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) will be conducting an education and enforcement initiative in Simcoe Muskoka on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1 to ensure workplaces and businesses are following public health guidelines and properly protecting workers and the public from COVID-19. Read the letter from Dr. Gardner.

Some of the protective safety measures in the regulations include:

  • Safety plans must be written and posted where easily seen by the employer.
  • Screening requirements for staff and customers for symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Proper use of masks and face coverings.
  • Crowd control measures and capacity limits to ensure proper 2 metre physical distancing.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENT FUND (BTIF)
The Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network is now accepting applications for its Business Technology Improvement Fund (BTIF) grants. The grant provides funding of up to 50% of approved costs, to a maximum grant of $25,000, to allow eligible businesses to purchase technology hardware, highly specialized equipment, software and specialized services.

The Lake of Bays Passport to Spring is a digital shop local campaign which includes ten activities designed to promote businesses in Lake of Bays.

  • Campaign: March 19, 2021 to June 4, 2021
  • Prizes: Winners receive a gift certificate to a business of their choice in Lake of Bays (1st prize: $250; 2nd prize: $100; 3rd prize: $50)

All businesses in Lake of Bays are invited to participate by sharing the posts and encouraging your customers to participate in the contest.
