BEAM (BROADBAND FOR E-BUSINESS & MARKETING) GRANT

For-profit businesses in Muskoka can receive up to $4,000 at 75% of eligible costs towards website development or upgrades, mobile apps, or purchasing new technology. For more information, visit: pmcn.ca/beam.

VOLUNTEER MUSKOKA TRAINING GRANT

SUMMER EXPERIENCE PROGRAM (SEP)

Non-profit organizations can receive funding to create summer jobs for youth who are students or recent graduates. SEP positions must focus on activities supporting key sectors within the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the Ministry of the Status of Women and the Ministry of Seniors Affairs, including: citizenship, voluntarism, seniors, women, tourism, culture, sport and recreation. YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PLACEMENT PROGRAM (YEPP)

16-week placement program that matches an innovative for-profit company with a high-potential youth (18-29). IION provides wage support ($7,100) and training, the company provides mentorship, and the youth provides skills. The business must co-apply with a youth. For more information, visit: iion.ca/yepp/.

SUSTAINABLE NEW AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS & PRODUCTIVITY PROGRAM (SNAPP)

Agriculture and food producers (business or non-profit) can receive up to $5,000 at 75% of costs towards the purchase of equipment for eligible activities (e.g. new product creation, season extension, enhanced productivity, adopt clean technology, etc.). STEP FORWARD ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM (SFEP)

Innovative for-profit businesses can receive up to $5,000 at 85% of eligible costs to assist with a variety of costs, including: Trade Shows and related Travel Expenses; Training, Certifications or Licenses; Market/Product Research or Market-entry Fees; IP Assessment / Protection; Marketing and Promotional Materials; Business Growth Expertise; or Export Development. Red Tape Challenge - How would YOU cut Red Tape?
The Province of Ontario wants to cut unnecessary red tape to save businesses time and money, and are currently consulting on regulations that apply to the Tourism sector.

Share your thoughts on which rules should stay, which require an update and which should be eliminated. Visit ontario.ca/page/red-tape-challenge.

Deadline: Tourism consultation runs February 1 to March 31, 2018. Final report available October 31, 2018.
Tourism Excellence North - Fast Track to Success
Tourism Excellence North, known by its acronym ‘TEN’ is a suite of self-assessment tools, group learning ( Best Practices Missions), and personalized coaching opportunities (Fast Track to Success).

Fast Track to Success includes a pre-visit survey, on-site visit by independent expert, recommendations that ‘can be implemented the next day’, and post-visit support. Interested tourism operators must be recommended by a TEN Broker as there is limited space in this program.
