Please note that this year that 2nd through 4th street will stay closed this year to midnight, pending traffic we will re-open 9th down to 7th street earlier. In past 4th through 9th were opened after 5 pm, keeping it closed  will allow the vendors leaving at 5 pm ample time to pack & exit without the extra traffic.  We have over 25 vendors that are staying open late to accommodate the later crowds.

What cooler way to display your classic car then entering in the LAKEFEST Antique Auto Car Show!! To register your vehicle for the show, complete a registration form return with the $10 fee prior to festival or $20 day of the show. The application can be mailed out or faxed to those interested in participating. We are big FANs of LAKEFEST and we have some super cute ones available along with some totally cool stadium cups, key chains & the official LAKEFEST 2017 light up fidget spinners!! Tuesday, July 18th & Thursday, July 20th Puzzle Social hosted by Frames & Stitches at the Virginia Avenue Mall. Beginning on June 20th, Frames & Stitches at the Virginia Avenue Mall invites jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts to a Puzzle Social. The Social will be held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm.  It's an opportunity to work on a challenging jigsaw puzzle, enjoy light refreshments and socialize with like-minded puzzlers. 317 Virginia Ave, Clarksville, VA. Wednesday, July 19th Join the Kids Canvas Club! Rising First Graders and UP (adults too!) are welcome. An adult is not required to stay but is welcome to if they'd like. Space is limited and will be filled on a first paid basis! Classes are 1:00pm-3:00pm and are $35/each. Take 4 classes and get the 5th FRE E! 312 Virginia Ave, Clarksville, VA. Wednesday, July 19th – Sailboat painting. Other class dates: Tuesday, August 1st – Monster Truck painting. Wednesday, August 2nd – Cupcake painting.  
Wednesday, July 19th – ‘The Art of Basket Weaving’ at the Colonial Center for the Performing Arts. The Colonial Theatre will be offering ‘The Art of Basket Weaving,’ an introductory course into the topic hosted by Colonial performer Jim Simpson. The workshop will run from 6:00pm-8:00pm and is open to adults only, ages 21 and up. This workshop, which will cover basic basket weaving techniques, has a 10-student restriction, so those interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible by calling 434-262-4170.
Thursday, July 20th VFW Post 8163 monthly Fish Fry and BBQ. All you can eat fried fish and pulled pork BBQ at 5pm-7pm. Includes baked beans, hush puppies, slaw, desserts and drinks. Fri. July 21st - "Live Music Under the Stars" with HUGH VAUGHAN on the Patio from 7-11pm $5 cover

Sat. July 22nd - We will OPEN FOR LUNCH at 11am and be serving all your favorites like Steamed Shrimp, Hot Crab Dip, Black and Blue Beef Tenderloin Sub, Oysters Rockefellar, Crab-cake Sandwich, and more. Plus we will have HAPPY HOUR ON THE PATIO from 11-4pm with $2 Raspberitas, $4 Margaritas, and $4 Rum Punch! Then Saturday night, HUGH VAUGHAN will be back to rock the Patio from 5-9pm ($5 cover). Full Dinner menu available on the Patio as well as inside in the main restaurant both Friday & Saturday night from 5-10pm.


Hugh Vaughan packs the house and Reservations are strongly Recommended. Hugh is originally from South Boston and is a local favorite. Now he visits us from from ATLANTA once a year on Lake Fest!! Hugh has played with all the greats like the Gregg Allmann Band, The Indigo Girls, and BB King. This show sells out every year so make your reservations early 434-374-2866

Friday, July 21st Campfire at Occoneechee State Park from 7:00pm-8:00pm. One of the best parts of camping is relaxing around the campfire sharing stories and making memories. Maybe we'll sing a song, or tell some jokes, we will definitely roast marshmallows with your fellow guests. A ranger will be sharing some fun things to do and some neat places to explore while you are here. It is fun for all ages. The campfire will be located at Fire Pit between the Office and Amphitheatre. No extra fee for this event and children are allowed. 1192 Occoneechee Park Rd., Clarksville, VA. Additional Campfire date: July 28th.

Saturday, July 22nd Silent Auction hosted by the Clarksville House of Prayer. The Silent Auction will be held at the Old Theater on the corner of 4th and Virginia Avenue. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will go towards funding a mission trip to Africa for their members. Item Preview at 10 am, Auction from 11 am-12 pm and Distribution to Winners from 12 pm-1 pm. Saturday, July 22nd Camping 101 at Occoneechee State Park from 1:00pm-2:30pm. Not sure how to camp or what to bring? A ranger will have common camping gear and tools to show you new and different camping tricks that can save time and money. This program is open to all ages. Feel free to bring some of your own tricks and camping gear or tools to share with us. You will leave with a higher camping IQ and be better prepared for your next family camping trip. Camping 101 will be located at the Park Office. No extra fee for this event and children are allowed. 1192 Occoneechee Park Rd., Clarksville, VA.  Additional Camping 101 date: July 29th.
Saturday, July 22nd Hay Ride and Scavenger Hunt at Occoneechee State Park from 6 pm-7:30pm. Take a relaxing ride from our park office, seeing the butterfly garden pollinator fields and archery range. Once at the archery range we will stretch our legs with a natural items scavenger hunt through the woods. This event is perfect for all ages. There is a fee of $3 per person or $8 per family. Please contact the park office for more information or to make a reservation, space is limited, so hurry. Wednesday, July 28th-Sunday, July 30th Vacation Bible School. Registration for July 28-30th Camp Out VBS is now open. You can register online at the link below, or in person at church June 25th and July 2nd from 3 -4:30pm. Saturday, August 5th & Sunday, August 6th Guys and Dolls Jr. at the Colonial Center for the Performing Arts. Guys and Dolls Jr. is an adaptation of the show considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. All performers in the show will be ages 18 and under! Set in Damon Runyon's New York City, Guys and Dolls JR. follows gambler, Nathan Detroit, as he tries to find the cash to set up the biggest crap game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years without ever getting married. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, but Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown. This is a C.A.T.S. Community Theatre production. Performance Dates/Times: August 5, 11 & 12 at 8:00 p.m.; August 6 & 13 at 2:30 p.m.

Saturday, August  18th-Sunday, August 19th Boydton’s Big Bad BBQ. Team applications will be taken until August 4 and registration forms are available at www.boydton.org, by emailing dcober@comcast.net or picked up in Boydton Town Hall at 461 U.S. 58 Bus, Boydton, VA. The entry fee is $200, which covers all four categories - ribs, chicken, butts and brisket. For information on being a vendor, please email dcober@comcast.net  or stop by the Boydton Town Hall.
