Howdy Lakers,
August marks warm weather (especially here in Texas), the winding down of summer vacations, and many possibilities for all the students kicking off a new school year at Mercyhurst. Do you remember the August before arriving on-campus? Whether it was a long drive or flight, with family, friends, or on your own, you hopefully had a sense of hope for what awaited at the Hurst. I definitely invite you to reminisce on those first few weeks of arriving at Mercyhurst, the routine you established, and figuring out how to be on your own. But, more importantly, remember the friends you made including those you keep in touch with in-person, text chats or social posts.
Our alumni association stands more than 26,000 strong throughout the world and we're really excited to reconnect you with Mercyhurst. We're looking forward to reviving our alumni chapters in the U.S. and considering kicking off international chapters. If you're interested in leading a chapter, speaking to current students or feedback on what events you would like, let's connect. Be sure to keep us updated on your career, education, and personal accomplishments which can be featured in the Laker Legacy Newsletter. And, I definitely encourage you to make plans to visit the Hurst for Homecoming Weekend, check out the planned events during the weekend of October 3.
Let's wish all the Mercyhurst students, faculty, and staff another successful academic year!
To all the alumni, I hope you continue to be ambassadors of service and embody the Mercyhurst way!
