Dear Laker Families,

As August comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible start to the school year we’ve had at WPS. The opening weeks of school always bring energy, anticipation, and adjustment. Together, we’ve embraced the challenges and celebrated the triumphs. Our classrooms are filled with curiosity, our porches with laughter, and our Laker community with a spirit of belonging that makes this place truly special.

Earlier this week, Middle School hosted an incredible Back-to-School Night! It was wonderful to see so many families engaging with our faculty and experiencing the evening through their child’s eyes. The night was a powerful reminder of the strong partnership we share with our families and how essential that connection is to student success.

We have also introduced Design into our Middle School curriculum. As part of our journey through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP), MYP Design provides a hands-on, project-based approach that challenges students to think creatively, solve real-world problems, and develop innovative solutions through the design-thinking process.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue building momentum into September. Soon, we’ll launch our Laker Learning Buddies program with the Lower School, students will soon be getting information on our incredible and unique Laker Adventures, and most importantly, we will come together to celebrate Laker Day on September 5th as we mark our school’s official 25th anniversary!

As always, be sure to check our calendar of events to stay connected with what’s happening in Middle School. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here’s to a year filled with growth, connection, and discovery!

We’re excited to share that Friday, September 5 will be a full, regular school day with an added layer of history and celebration as we honor Windermere Prep’s 25th anniversary!

Throughout the day, students of all ages will take part in a variety of pop-up activities, reflections, and special experiences that highlight our school’s journey from 2000 to 2025. From the signing of a commemorative register to time capsule ceremonies, each division will recognize this milestone in meaningful ways.

While this is primarily a student-centered day of recognition on campus, parents are welcome to stop by for the Visitor Viewing Hour of our 25th Anniversary Retrospective Video in the Cypress Center from 11:15 AM-12:15 PM. Light refreshments will be available.

We can’t wait to mark 25 years of learning, growth, and community together! It's an important reminder that every Laker, past and present, is part of something bigger.

Get ready for the amazing Nord Anglia Education (NAE) regional events happening during the 2025-26 school year—all hosted right here at Windermere Prep!

Registration/application for all events will be held September 8-22, 2025. Click here to learn more about the events and get ready for registration on September 8!

What's new this year?

In past years, Windermere Prep students in Grades 5-8 could participate in Junior Games and Global Games. Starting this school year, Junior Games will be reserved for 5th graders and Global Games for 8th graders at our school.

This update allows each event to become a pinnacle experience at the close of Lower School and again at the culmination of Middle School. By dedicating these events to just one grade level, we ensure they are even more meaningful, giving students the opportunity to celebrate their growth, represent WPS, and connect with peers across the region in a truly special way.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in your child’s division through our Butler newsletters, posted every Friday at 5 PM on myWPS!

Welcome to Windermere Prep Athletics!

Lakers,

It is my privilege to welcome you to another exciting year of Windermere Prep Athletics. At WPS, we believe that athletics is an extension of the classroom—where lessons of teamwork, discipline, leadership, and resilience are learned and lived every day.

Our student-athletes, coaches, and staff are committed to representing Windermere Prep with the spirit of UNITAS both on and off the field. Whether competing for championships, learning the fundamentals of a new sport, or simply building lifelong friendships, our programs are designed to inspire growth and create lasting memories.

We invite the entire school community—students, families, alumni, faculty, and friends—to support our Lakers throughout the year. All home contests are free for our families and students, so please come out and cheer on the Lakers. With your support behind us, the Lakers can reach new heights!

I look forward to celebrating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our student-athletes this year. Together, let’s continue to build a culture that reflects the best of Windermere Prep.

Go Lakers!
