Dear Laker Community,

As we close another strong year in Lakers Athletics, we celebrate a season marked by championships, record-breaking performances, and continued program growth across all three seasons.

Our fall season set the tone with Football capturing the SSAA 1A Championship. Girls Golf earned District Champions honors and placed 3rd in FHSAA Class 1A, while Boys Golf finished as District Runner-Up. In the pool, both relay teams earned District Runner-Up finishes, with Addison Bitel and Willa Fitzpatrick each setting new school records. Ariana Urrea and Santiago Navarro each captured District Championships with rounds of 67 (-5).

The winter season continued that momentum. Girls Soccer earned another District Championship, while both Boys and Girls Basketball finished as District Runner-Up and Regional Qualifiers. Competitive Cheer placed 3rd in the FHSAA Class 1A Game Day Division, and Girls Weightlifting claimed Regional Championship honors, led by Trinity Sing.

Individually, this was one of the most accomplished years in program history. Addison Bitel earned a Regional Championship and State Bronze Medal, while setting a school record in the 200 IM. Willa Fitzpatrick broke the school record in the 200 Freestyle at the State Championships. Peyton Hollern rushed for over 1,000 yards, tying a single-game school record with 259 yards, and earned First Team All-District honors alongside Antonio Farah.

A special recognition goes to Brandon Bass Jr., who concludes one of the most decorated careers in school history. He leaves as our all-time leading scorer (2,573 points) while holding numerous program records and earning both FACA Player of the Year and Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year honors.

In the spring, Baseball and Softball each captured SSAA Tournament Championships, while Boys Tennis earned a District Championship and Fernando Bustos Armendariz competed in the FHSAA Class 1A State Tennis Championships. Track & Field saw outstanding success, highlighted by Cody Meyer, who was a District Champion in the shot put, discus, and javelin. Akai Tonge won District Championships in both the 110 and 400 hurdles and went on to capture Regional Championships in both events, setting two school records and advancing to the FHSAA State Championships.

We are also proud of the 13 student-athletes continuing their careers at the collegiate level, representing Windermere Prep at some of the highest levels of collegiate athletics and academics.

This year’s success reflects the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and families. Thank you for your continued support in building something truly special.
