Oakland County reaches 70% vaccination rate
7/28/2021 - We got some great news last week when the state reported that Oakland County had reached the 70% vaccination rate for residents 16 and older.
It’s not time, though, to plan a parade because we still have a ways to go, especially with the Delta variant causing our case numbers to rise in recent weeks.
For the moment, let’s acknowledge how much our residents have done to get vaccinated and keep themselves, their families, friends and neighbors safe from the virus.
If you have gotten vaccinated, thank you so much. If you haven’t, it’s never been easier to get the safe and effective vaccine. Just go to www.OaklandCountyVaccine.com to find a place where you can get your shot.

Michiganders Should Not Wait for
Insurance to Apply for a Disaster Loan -
Over $2.5 Million Approved
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is encouraging Michigan businesses and residents affected by the extreme storms, flooding and tornadoes on June 25-26, 2021, to submit their loan applications for physical damages even if they have not settled with their insurance company.
SBA disaster loans can cover the difference between an insurance settlement and what is needed to fully recover. If a survivor has not settled their insurance claim, SBA will consider making a loan for the total loss up to its loan limits. The insurance settlement will be used to reduce or repay the loan.
As of July 29, the SBA has approved 84 disaster loans for a total of $2,583,600. There is currently a 17-month payment deferment on all new disaster loans, making the first payment due 18 months from the date of the promissory note.
The declaration covers Washtenaw and Wayne counties, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans. In the adjacent counties of Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe and Oakland, Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available.
Please call (404) 895-7345 if you have any questions. We have two public affairs specialists working in Michigan who are available to do webinars, meetings, Zoom calls, Facebook Lives, etc. to help reach businesses.
