We've reached the halfway point of the summer...
We're only halfway into the 2020 Chautauqua season, and together, as members of the Volunteer Corps, YOU have accomplished so much! Everyone has done a terrific job stepping up as new requests arise and checking in on weekly volunteer responsibilities. Our community is incredibly appreciative of all that you have accomplished. Let's make the second half of the season as good as the first!
Special Announcements
  • Record Volunteer Hours. Please email communications@lakesideohio.com, call (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 or stop by the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Office at 217 Walnut Ave. to report your volunteer hours.
  • Volunteer Recognition. The Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation (LCF) and the Volunteer Corps are celebrating YOU and all your accomplishments. For those who RSVP'd, the Volunteer Recognition will take place from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Steele Memorial Bandstand. Volunteer Corps Co-Directors Jack Allen and Sally DePerro and the LCF Board Chair, Tom Jones, will give a short message of thanks.

Wellness Campus Entrance
We would like to give a special thanks to Lakeside Volunteer Corps member Darrell Waite. Darrell power washed and cleaned the entrance of the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus over the weekend.

Thank you, Darrell, for making sure this beloved and well-used space is clean for Lakeside friends, families and guests!
Craft & Art Show
Thank you so much to the many volunteers who answered the call to volunteer at the annual Craft & Art Show this past weekend.

Volunteers greeted vendors and handed out welcome packets on Thursday, while on Friday and Saturday, volunteers encouraged social distancing, helped answer questions and welcomed attendees who arrived to see the beautiful crafts. Thank you, volunteers! You helped make this beloved event a success!

Mulching Projects: We still have a variety of mulching projects around the grounds for those who are interested in tending to garden beds. To help Lakeside's Gardening and Grounds crew, contact communications@lakesideohio.co m, (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 or by stop by 217 Walnut Ave.

Cleanup of the Dock: Volunteers are picking up garbage and debris along the dock and waterfront kindly led by Ron and Mary Ann Janke. Please meet Ron and Mary Ann at the entrance of the dock at 9 a.m. Wednesdays. Volunteers should wear gloves and bring a bag for collection.
Volunteering FAQs
  1. Start volunteering as soon as today! Your help is needed now across the grounds.
  2. You're responsible for keeping track of your own hours. Please record and report your hours to the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Office.
  3. Please wear your official Lakeside Chautauqua Volunteer Corps name badge and mask while volunteering.
  4. Please use your own tools and equipment when possible. Lakeside tools and equipment can be borrowed if necessary, however, each department will have different rules regarding loaning tools and equipment. You will be informed of these rules upon volunteering.
  5. Please visit the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Office, located at 217 Walnut Ave., if you're unable to download and print the Volunteer Application. We will give you a physical copy of the application.
