Please Welcome our new Club Manager!
Joshua Huddleston is a seasoned Club Manager who enjoys working with membership and staff. He has devoted over a decade in the industry.
Josh is coming to Lakeside Country Club from the Champaign, Illinois area. After graduating high school, one of his mentors encouraged him to follow his passion for food and helped him enroll in Culinary School. After obtaining his Culinary Arts Degree from the Cooking Hospitality Institute, Josh was most notably the Chef of Catering for The Bergoff in Downtown Chicago.
Josh then returned to the Champaign Area and upon returning he was the Operations Director for a Small Restaurant Group. In this role he oversaw the design, construction and cultivation of two new restaurant concepts.

Most Recently Josh was the Food and Beverage Director at his hometown club the Champaign Country Club. Lastly, Josh formulated the remodel of the Member Dining and Catering Kitchen.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have entered the January shutdown period and will be working on the club to-do list that includes a general cleaning, repair or replacement of equipment and sprucing up of some areas of the club. The 19th hole is a priority for a refreshing touch up. Stacy Unzicker in her new role as Assistant Manager will play a key role in coordinating these activities.

Our two new managers are already hard at work. Golf Pro Jeff Tod is giving the Pro Shop a fresh new look and planning ahead for new merchandise, golf operations and a full slate of golf programs.

Club Manager Josh Huddleston is diving into his new role by learning about club operations, meeting with employees, catching up on our financials, budgeting, menu planning and other activities that fall under his responsibilities. Cleaning and updating the kitchen is a top priority.

Your board of directors is fully engaged and club committees are busy planning programs and activities for the year ahead. This is especially so for the House, Golf, Finance, Membership and Entertainment committees. The Grounds and Pool committees will be quite active as spring approaches.

The board has scheduled a Special Member Opening Meeting on Thursday, January 31 at 7:00 P.M. We will update you on our progress since the Annual Meeting in November and our plans for 2019. The evening will also be a Meet and Greet for the new Club Manager Josh Huddleston and Golf Pro Jeff Tod. Our official club opening will be the following day Friday, February 1st. We look forward to seeing everyone again.

We are committed to making 2019 a special time to be a Lakeside member. Please join us in supporting that endeavor
