A Transformative Year for the LSO...
Lakeside Welcomes Guest Conductors
To celebrate the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra's (LSO) 55th season, we welcome six
top-notch guest conductors, five of whom are applying to be the next Conductor and Music Director of the LSO. With extensive experience from around the world, the conductors will collaborate with the orchestra's 75 talented musicians and guest soloists to bring new excitement and artistry to Lakeside.
Guest conductor John Gordon Ross will open the season on Wednesday, July 25 with "Home Movies," which will feature selections from "Sleeping Beauty," "The Wizard of Oz" and "Star Trek." On Friday, July 27, guest conductor Max Rabinovitsj will play violin alongside pianist Milana Strezeva during Felix Mendelssohn's brilliant and rarely performed "Concerto for Violin and Piano in D minor."
"Musical Postcards," the concert with guest conductor Matthew Kraemer on Wednesday, Aug. 1, will feature violinist Jinjoo Cho on Jean Sibelius' "Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47." For this year's ballet performance with guest conductor John Gordon Ross on Saturday, Aug. 4, the LSO has formed a new relationship with Verb Ballets, a bold and dynamic dance company out of Cleveland.
Guest conductor Daniel Meyer's "Tales by the Seaside" concert on Tuesday, Aug. 7 will highlight selections from "The Little Mermaid" and "Pirates of the Caribbean," as well as the artistry of violinist Isabelle Durrenberger. On Friday, Aug. 10, guest conductor Bruce Anthony Kiesling's "Adventureland" will showcase the works of Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, as well as guest soloist Andrew Tyson on piano.
The LSO concert series will close on Tuesday, Aug. 14 with guest conductor Michael Chertock, pianist Dror Biran and the rousing "America the Beautiful."
Whether you're a long-time orchestra lover or wanting to experience a concert with your family for the first time, you're sure to be inspired by the LSO's summer concert series.
We Value Your Feedback
As we embark on a national-level search for a future Conductor and Music Director, we're launching an e-survey to collect feedback about your LSO concert experience this summer. The survey will be available at www.lakesideohio.com/symphony after the first concert.
We also invite you to join us at our 'Meet the Conductor' Forums throughout the summer. Lakeside staff and key orchestra members will be gathering feedback on all candidates both at these forums and following each concert to assist in the evaluation process for a future Conductor and Music Director.
