With so many dining and retail options on Broadway and Sheffield, we hope to keep supporting our neighborhood businesses with these events and are now bringing live entertainment to the streets!

Classes and Events at the Japanese Culture Center
The Japanese Culture Center (JCC) and Japanese Arts Foundation (JAF)
plan to bring an important, and topical cultural event to Chicago’s Jackson Park: Bon Fest

The upcoming Bon Festival will be streaming from Garden of the Phoenix this July 31st at 8 PM. This is a free event and there will also be free virtual dances classes to teach the dances streamed from the center.

AFS is looking for host families!
AFS is a non-profit organization that has been facilitating high school exchange programs for over 70 years with the mission of creating a more just and peaceful world. They are accredited by CSIET (Council on Standards for International Educational Travel) and they partner with the US Department of State to run several scholarship programs for high school students.

AFS currently has 17 high school students coming to the Greater Chicago area this fall for the 2021-2022 school year and are looking for host families.

Celebrating 20 years of the LGBTQ+ Community and Sports, Out at Wrigley will be having their 20th anniversary of the first ever Gay Day/Pride Day in the history of sporting events in the world! Respond to their Facebook event here

Uncommon Ground is Celebrating 30 Years In Wrigleyville
This month is Uncommon Ground Lakeview’s 30th Anniversary! Starting July 14th Uncommon Ground will be serving their pre-fixed food/drink special - available at our Lakeview location all month long. They are celebrating 30 years strong with the return of live music with their first concert on 7/15 at our Lakeview location.

But This Time As A Cantina
Taco Bell has returned to it's rightful place at the corner of Addison and Clark. After candlelight vigils marked it's downfall when new owners bought the lot, they made good on their promise to bring back Crunch Wrap Supremes into the hands of the loyal patrons of Wrigleyville.

This time around, you can buy alcohol, as this is one of their limited Cantina locations. Stop in and welcome them back to the neighborhood!

The legendary Old Town School of Folk Music will host 45-minute morning music programs each Tuesday from July 6 through September 28 at 10 a.m. Following the music program, guests can enjoy a variety of family-friendly movies on the video board, starting at 11 a.m. each Tuesday.​​
French Market at Gallagher Way
Gallagher Way will host the French Market on select Thursday evenings from July 15 through September 30, starting at 4 p.m. The European-inspired market features 20 vendors, including a mixture of specialty foods, crafts and artisanal goods, along with live music and a new kid-friendly craft booth. 
Fitness Series Presented by Advocate Health Care at Gallagher Way
Presented by Advocate Health Care, the Fitness Series at Gallagher Way kicks off July 5 and runs through September 29, with free weekly outdoor fitness classes for the community, including HIIT and Social Run Club with CrossTown Fitness, and Yoga with Five Keys Yoga.
Movies at Gallagher Way
Lakeview’s historic Music Box Theatre will host seven free movies at Gallagher Way, beginning at 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at each showing from surrounding restaurants and on-site concessions stands. New Labor Standards Implemented in Chicago
Effective July 1, 2021, the Chicago Minimum Wage has increased for all covered employees. The Minimum Wage has increased to either $14.00 or $15.00 per hour, depending on the number of workers at a business. For qualifying employers with 21 or more workers, the new Minimum Wage is now $15.00 per hour. For employers with four to 20 workers, the new Minimum Wage is $14.00.

Just minutes from downtown in Chicago's Lakeview and Lakeview East neighborhoods, the Belmont Theater District is home to more than 50 theaters and hundreds of shops and restaurants within a short walking distance.

Amidst recent suspension of group gatherings and, thus, live performances, many Belmont District Theaters have opted into providing digital, remote and streaming programming for patrons to enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.

Final Facade Work Underway For Wrigleyville Lofts In Lakeview
Remaining brickwork is currently underway for Wrigleyville Lofts, located at 949 W Dakin Street in Lake View. Developed by Draper & Kramer, the seven-story mixed-use project will house 13,000 square feet of retail, partitioned into four available units ranging from 1,400 to 2,500 square feet. The fifth and largest unit will be a nearly 6,000-square-foot Ace Hardware, which previously occupied the one-story building located on the property.
