While we're only doing one weekend a month this time around, we'll be filling the weekend with fun surprises every month. Mark your calendars now, grab your SPF, and get ready for one of the best outdoor dining features of the summer!

Crab King Supper Club & Grand Opening
This Monday, we officially welcomed Crab King Cajun Boil and Bar to Lakeview East! Since their soft opening in March they have been working hard to get their space ready to welcome in neighbors! We will be celebrating their recent opening on May 16th at 6:30PM with a 3 Course Pris Fixe Meal + Wine!

Join us for a delicious, filling taste of our newest restaurant on Broadway. Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar is a new seafood restaurant that is quickly becoming a local favorite and for good reason!

After a soft opening 2 months ago, they've now outfitted their bar to serve wine & liquor. Enjoy wine, fresh Snow Crab, Shrimp, and more on this night of Cajun tastiness!

Free Movies & French Market to Return to Return to Gallagher Way
Starting tonight, Gallagher Way will be Rebooting Free Movies in the Park with The Music Box
Grab your picnic blankets and join your neighbors out for free movies at Gallagher way every other Wednesday! This year, they're focusing on music themed movies with the kick off tonight being Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Adventure. Throughout the summer, sing along to movies like Rocket Man, Mamma Mia, Encanto, and More!

Get Together at Gallagher Way for a taste of Europe at the French Market
Take a trip to Paris at the French Market at Gallagher Way on select Thursday nights throughout the summer, starting at 4 p.m. Explore the tastes of Europe from vendors while you listen to live music and sip some rosé. Perfect for girlfriends, date night, or post-work drinks, the French Market, presented by Bensidoun, is open to the neighborhood as a gathering spot to mingle, shop and embrace the cool, casual-style this market radiates. Taco Bell is Hosting A Drag Brunch Tour in the City
Taco Bell's Employee resource group, Live Mas Pride, is bringing their national drag brunch tour to our Taco Bell Cantina at 1107 W. Addison Street on May 22nd! Each event supports the It Gets Better Project, a non-profit advocacy group for queer youth. Enjoy some boozy Baja Blast slushies and a breakfast burrito at their upcoming tour!

A Frame Signs are Now Legal To Have On The Sidewalk - But You Need A Permit

Sidewalk cafe season is upon us! Businesses, be sure to renew your sidewalk cafe permits ASAP! The city is experiencing an influx of businesses looking to expand their outdoor dining to enjoy beautiful Chicago summers, and turn around times have slowed. Be sure to submit your permit applications so you can have your patio just in time for the upcoming warm weather
Register Your Camera with The City Of Chicago
The City of Chicago has launched a free and voluntary camera registration program open to anyone who lives or operates a business in Chicago. If you have a private security camera that captures the public way and you are interested in assisting in an investigation in the event of a crime in your neighborhood, you can register your camera with the Chicago Police Department.

By registering your camera, you are simply allowing the Chicago Police Department to contact you in the event of a crime in your area. The Chicago Police Department will not have direct access to your camera system and cannot access camera footage without your consent. There is no requirement to provide footage at any time.

Sign Up to be a Community Researcher this Summer

Would you like to spend some time along the lakefront this summer while also helping the North DuSable Lake Shore Drive (NDLSD) project team better understand how people use the lakefront today?Volunteer to be a community researcher for the Public Life Study on June 16 or June 18, 2022! As part of the Public Life Study, you will be observing human behavior along the lakefront. 
Help Us Complete the Public Life Study! Thursday, June 16 and Saturday, June 18 Sign up here to be a community researcher
Community researcher positions will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all shift openings are filled, the Public Life Study signup will close. Confirmations will be sent to volunteers regarding dates, times, and locations for observations, and waitlisted volunteers will also be notified.
