New Open Books Donation Site in Lakeview East
We've partnered with Open Books to install a book donation bin outside of Nettelhorst Elementary School! You can put your books, any books, to good use when you no longer want them. Children's books, adult fiction and non-fiction, multi-lingual. Any books.

Open Books, a Chicago-based literacy organization, repurposes used books in two ways. They either grant them to children who lack access to high-quality titles, or they resell them in one of our two stores (West Loop and Pilsen) and online. Children who benefit from book grants gain access to literacy. Proceeds from their sales help to fund their literacy programs, which reinforce reading and writing and span birth through 12th grade. Open Books' literacy programs impact 6,000 students every year, while our book grants empower 80,000 more.

They've made giving back to the city simple. Drop your books off at the corner of Aldine and Broadway (Aldine side) in the newly placed Open Books' Donation Bin at The Nettelhorst School and they handle the rest!
