Holiday Tree Lighting Recap
Thanks for joining us at the Holiday Tree Lighting Yesterday!
We had a blast singing holiday songs with our neighbors and lighting our neighborhood tree! The hot cocoa flowed, candy canes were enjoyed, and we even had an appearance from the big guy himself, Santa! If you haven't had a chance to see the tree yet, swing by the Walgreens parking lot at Waveland and Broadway and snap some fun holiday pictures with the family!

We wanted to say a big thank you to Walgreens for donating the space & Wake n Bakery for donating our holiday tree. We also would like to thank Stephane Gonzales for his artistic eye in designing our holiday tree, Marko & Daryl for helping decorate, and our maintenance team for working hard & making a beautiful little holiday village for the tree lighting last night!

New Mural Unveiled on Clark Street in Support of Iranian Women
The neighborhood has unveiled its first public mural amplifying the voices of Iranian citizens who — in the wake of the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini — are revolting against the country's current regime.
Three generations of Iranian women appear in the work, which depicts them choosing not to veil their hair in a way that meets the standards of the country's leadership.
The piece, painted by Ukrainian American artist & muralist Natalie Shugailo, represents the intergenerational support for women’s rights and freedom to speak up, and is a collaboration between an internationally minded group of curators and artists, and artist on the ground in Iran who must remain anonymous for safety reasons. You can see the new mural on the Clark and Addison building at 3550 N. Clark
