PHASE 5 IS HERE!
REOPENING STARTING JUNE 11TH
|
|
It truly has been a long year and a half with COVID-19 threatening local businesses. As our cases drop and vaccination rates rise, we are hopeful for this summer to really return to normal once and for all. With Phase 5 approaching on June 11th 2021, here is a summary of what we need to know for this new step in getting our businesses back the way they were before the pandemic
|
|
- Businesses such as restaurants, bars, and venues will have no capacity limits or mask mandates
- Many businesses will likely continue to require certain capacity restrictions or mask requirements, but it is the individual decision of each business to do so
- Large events such as Lollapalooza will still require proof of vaccination or negative test results
- Chicago will be the largest city to fully reopen
- Chicago leads the top 5 cities in highest adult vaccination rate and lowest unemployment rate
- The Department of Public Health does expect more ups & downs in case rates over the course of the next few months, but does not expect significant impact from those fluctuations
-
The City of Chicago will be publishing much of this information here with any further guidance as phases change
