August 19, 2020

We're excited to be participating again in Mayor Lori Lightfoot's "Make Way for Dining" program! Local favorite restaurants and food establishments along Sheffield from Belmont to School will participate again this weekend. Sidewalk patios will be extended into the street to accomodate social distancing between guests.

All social distancing, face covering, and other guidelines will be followed. Please see below for the map of this weekend's street closures.

Please click here for a list of participating restaurants, more information about street closures, and the Dine Out program.

And, mark your calendars:
Dine Out on Broadway will return September 11-13 between Belmont & Diversey!
Thank you to our sponsors, Byline Bank and Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, for making Dine Out possible!

Want to See More Neighborhood Programs like Dine Out?
Want to See Small Businesses Thrive After COVID-19?

Consider Making a Donation to the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce!

If you have ever attended the Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, Belmont Sheffield Music Festival, Halloween Hoopla, Wine Stroll, Annual Tree Lighting, last year's Wrigleyville Wonderland, the new Dine Out program, or any of the countless other community events we've put on for the community, you know how much we love the residents and businesses of Lakeview East and how incredibly proud we are to represent this neighborhood. We love hosting these events as much as you love attending, but they are also quite expensive to produce.

Your donation to the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce will help us continue support for our local small businesses during a time when they need us most, as well as bring our community together as we begin to reopen and, eventually, recover. After all, our local small businesses are what makes our neighborhood so dynamic, unique, and a place that truly feels like home. We will do whatever it takes to help keep it that way!

Please consider making a donation to the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce here.

A Tribute to the Legendary Dave "Medusa" Shelton

Dave 'Medusa' Shelton was a fairy godmother to Chicago's club scene. He didn't just found the legendary Medusa's at School and Sheffield in the 80's, he also helped everyone in his orbit shine like a star. We will miss Dave immensely, and are forever grateful for his legacy that will live on in our community.

Read the full Chicago Reader story on Dave HERE. A memorial tribute will be held for Dave on Saturday, August 22 and more details can be found HERE, including a live stream for those who can't make it in person.

"They were already stars, I simply provided them with a place to shine" -Dave 'Medusa' Shelton

These can be your personal memories, history about Lakeview, your favorite spots, etc. To be involved or if you have any questions email Chris O'Brien at

Advertising Funds Still Available:
Life+Style has created an "Advertising Fund" of $35K to help chamber members and small businesses in our community effected by the recent events of this year.  The goal is to give a helping-hand to those in need of advertising and help them to get the word out through boiMAGazine's extensive media network.
The funds can be used by any chamber member, on a first come basis, for Half Page ads, Full Page ads, and/or Digital Web Ads. boiMAGazine is happy to be in a position to help the community, so there is absolutely no obligation(s) for using the "Advertising Fund" for your business or organization.
