Lakewood Released Results of 34th Annual Harvest Moon Regatta®
Seabrook, TX: Lakewood Yacht Club hosted the Annual Harvest Moon Regatta® Oct. 21-23, 2021.

Nearly 100 sailboats entered the 34th annual HMR, which started in its usual spot on the Gulf of Mexico in front of the Pleasure Pier in Galveston.

Novice to expert sailors from all over Texas and beyond look forward to this race each October. HMR is a fun, overnight offshore race, usually sailed under a full bright-orange moon, that ends about 150 miles down the Gulf Coast in Port Aransas. Vessels fill up the Port A marina, where Port A officials are always so accommodating.

Some of this year's big winners are:

Bacardi Cup / Leading Edge / Tom Sutton
Cameron Cannon / Flyer / Ben Miller
John Broderick Memorial / Happy Endings / Rod Nichols & Amy Dewbre
Founders' Award / Far Reach / Mike Beuerlein
Bill Hall Memorial Trophy / Bear / Forbes Durdin

A complete list of race results can be found at harvestmoonregatta.com.

A fabulous party in the Port Aransas Pavilion is the highlight of the trip for many. It includes an excellent BBQ dinner and live entertainment, and Founding Sponsor Bacardi Rum supplies plenty of rum for all racers, volunteers, and party guests at the Welcome Sailor Rum Party, which was Halloween-themed this year. Awards are also given at the party.

This annual race is organized by Bay Access, a charitable organization supporting amateur racing, and hosted by Lakewood Yacht Club. Aside from title sponsor, Bacardi USA, the City of Seabrook, Encore Dredging, Faron Daigle Real Estate, Kevin Severance Insurance, Little Yacht Sales, Sea Lake Yachts, True North Marine, Texas Coast Yachts, Blackburn Marine, Pelican Insurance, Upstream Brokers, BoatPix.com, Boaters Resale Shop, West Marine, Triumph Over Kids and Edna Rice all contributed to the success of this year's race.
