35th Annual Harvest Moon Regatta Results
Seabrook, TX: Lakewood Yacht Club hosted the Annual Harvest Moon Regatta® Oct. 6-8, 2022.

Nearly 100 sailboats registered for this annual offshore regatta, which started in its usual spot on the Gulf of Mexico in front of Pleasure Pier in Galveston.

Novice to expert sailors from all over Texas and beyond look forward to this race each October. HMR is a fun, overnight offshore race, usually sailed under a full bright-orange moon, that ends about 150 miles down the Gulf Coast in Port Aransas. Port A Marina accommodated many of the racing boats and allowed the use of its newly renovated pavilion for the post-festivities and awards ceremony.

Here are the big winners for the 2022 race:

Bacardi Cup / Bear / Forbes Durdin
Cameron Cannon / Flyer / Ben Miller
John Broderick Memorial / Easy Does It / Uzi Ozeri
Founders' Award / Nelda Ray / Peter Pattullo
Bill Hall Memorial Trophy / Bear / Forbes Durdin

A complete list of race results can be found at harvestmoonregatta.com.

This year, MarineMax sponsored a powerboat party on Friday, Oct. 7th as a precursor to the always highly anticipated Welcome Sailors Rum Party, which included an excellent BBQ dinner, live entertainment by Puerto Rican Underground, and plenty of rum donated by Founding Sponsor Bacardi Rum.

Bay Access is the organizing authority. The 2022 race sponsors include Title Sponsor Bacardi Rum, Platinum Sponsor City of Seabrook, Gold Sponsors Faron Daigle Real Estate Broker and Encore Dredging Partners, and Silver Sponsor West Marine.
