Nine sailors represented LYC in the Wurstfest Regatta at Lake
Canyon Yacht Club November 5. Carson Shields finished 4th in the Full Rig Laser division, and Asher Zittrer took 4th in the Laser Radial division.
LYC sailors also began competing in the LYC Cold Front Series November 5, with Tony Slowik winning the Optimist class
and Stephen Momeier managing a 3rd place finish. Michael Morse won the Laser 4.7 fleet and Alex Wise and Laurel Tyson took 1st in the Club 420 class.
Asher Zittrer and Tony Slowik took the 1st and 3rd top finishes at the Naples Cup November 12-13, and Paul Houston competed with the U.S. National Team in Bermuda and finished 9th at the Bermuda National and Optimist Championships November 10-13.
Lakewood's sailors made a strong showing at the USADA Midwinter Championship November 24-26 with Tony Slowik leading the team of 18 LYC youths. Tony took the 35th position out of 265 sailors earning him a spot on the team going to Lake Garda Optimist in Riva del Garda, Italy. Scotty Mather and Stephen Momeier finished 41st and 43rd and also earned spots on the team going to Riva del Garda, the world's largest Optimist event. Noah Zittrer's 49th place finish earned him a trip to Braassemermeer, Netherlands to compete in the International Magic Marine Easter Regatta, and Parker Tyson and Emma McInnis both secured a chance to represent LYC at the Topsport Vlaanderen Nieuwpoortweek Regatta in Belgium.
