Message from the Mayor

Hello Everyone,

This is National Volunteer Week in Canada - a time to celebrate the many volunteers who work to make our country and our community a strong, vibrant and caring place to live. On behalf of Lambton Shores Council, I want to recognize everyone that volunteers in our community throughout the year. Thank you!

I would like to take a moment today to specifically thank and acknowledge those volunteers who are supporting our residents in need of assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many of you have stepped up to volunteer– for some of you it may be the very first time and others may be veterans of giving back to our community. Everyone is doing what they can and your small acts of kindness continue to inspire others. I am grateful to live in a community that can come together under any circumstance.

Please know that in celebration of Volunteer Week, Lambton Shores is now receiving applications for our 2020 Volunteer Appreciation Awards. If you know someone in our community that should be recognized for their volunteer work and contribution to our Lambton Shores lifestyle, why not submit their name for recognition?! You can find more information on the application process on our Volunteer page.

Finally, and again, I want to say thank you to everyone who is doing their part to flatten the COVID-19 curve. The results we are seeing are promising. Our actions are having a positive impact but we cannot let down our guard! Let us keep working together to follow the instructions from our experts and leaders in the healthcare field. Together we will get through this!

Stay safe, healthy and positive!
