from our Chairwoman of the Board
Happy Fiscal New Year!
I am very much looking forward to serving as your new Chairwoman for the 2019/2020 year. We had an amazing 117th Installation Dinner on June 21st, thank you to Anna, Mark and Sharon for all your hard work on the event. And a Special thank you to Emcee, Josh Mann, who did a phenomenal job as our host. He was very entertaining, and I appreciate the personal effort that he put into the Installation.
I would like to give a quick shout-out to Past-Chairman of the Board, Luis Garibay. Over the past year Luis has guided the Directors on a positive path of productivity and the Chamber has benefitted greatly from his efforts. Luis takes time to show his appreciation to each of the directors and I would like to thank him for his continued commitment to the Chamber and the businesses in which it supports. It has been an honor serving with Luis on the Board of Directors and I look forward to the building on his achievements.
We have a brilliant Board of Directors this year and I am looking forward to working with each and every one of them, as we continue to strive to maintain and cultivate the Chamber's success throughout the upcoming year.

Light up those grills, get your flag out, cut up some cold fruit, it's the smoke-
filled
scent of our nation's birthday, full of fireworks, fun, rodeo's and barbecued
delights.
As you
prep your patriotic weekend, don't forget the 4th of July is the
perfect time for a fun marketing campaign..
So before you fire up the grill, focus on
firing off some marketing shots with these 4th of July tips.
1.Try a Social Media Contest
People love to share their holiday moments. Engaged social media events
are
engaging and thrive on the shareable content. Invite your followers to submit
themed photos or pictures with a holiday theme. Use a custom hashtag for your
business or, involve your brand
and gain some advertising momentum
by
asking
people
to pose with your product or share a 4th of July story about your
service. Then pick the winner, share their photo, and award them their prize.
2. Think Promo's
People appreciate a business's holiday spirit, especially when it comes in the form of
free stuff. If you're a retail shop or restaurant, hand out branded
swag like sunglasses,
fans, water bottles, sunscreen, or visors. Ideally, you'll get people parading around in
your logo or simply returning to shop after the holiday weekend.
3. Be the "Go To"
Put together a 4th of July
favorites list. It doesn't need to be items or services you
sell. For example, an insurance agency can highlight their favorite local spots to catch
the fireworks or concerts. A salon can do a quick helpful guide of waterproof 'dos to
get you through a long day at the beach or on the lake. It's not necessarily going to
make the weekend cash register ring, but... you're planting the seed for pre-holiday s
ocial
shares that can lead to post-holiday
sales.

Be a part of the California's Citizens Redistricting Commission
The
Commission is formed every ten years through the selection of 14 California voters who work together to redistrict the state (Senate districts, Assembly districts and so on). The deadline to apply for the Commission is August 9th, 2019 and it is a great opportunity for community business leaders to affect California's governance hands on!
