Parent Volunteers Needed!
Dear La Follette Music Parents,

Saturday, February 22, 2020 marks a very big day in the music department calendar of La Follette High School. On that day we will be hosting the Solo/Ensemble Music Festival for the Madison Metropolitan School District. In order to make this event a positive, memorable, and successful experience for our music students, district-wide, we will need many adult volunteers to assist with set-up (the Friday prior, after school), serve as room chairpersons, office workers, concession workers, and to help with clean-up (immediately following the festival, Saturday afternoon).

In addition, it always helps to have a few adults “unassigned” who can fill in at any of these jobs if someone else needs to hear their own child or children perform. We are looking for people who can help for the full day, or for a half-day. Even if you can spare just a couple of hours, it would be most helpful and greatly appreciated!

P l ease feel free to contact us if you are willing and able to volunteer or if you have any questions. Hard copy forms seeking both adult and student volunteers will be distributed in the high school music classes prior to winter break. Thank you, in advance, for your continued assistance and support!

Sincerely,

Mark Cyra

The Graduation Ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Kohl Center. More detailed information will be sent in mid-May, which will give graduates, parents and family all the pertinent details relating to seating, parking and other concerns that you will want to hear about. For now, please note the time, date and location.
Attendance Newsletter
Every year, absences spike in the weeks before and after winter break. It’s time to break that cycle.

Lancer Pride - Term 1
Congratulations to students who met the following criteria for Lancer PRIDE this first term:

  • 2.5 and above grade point average
  • No major behavior incidents
  • No unexcused absences, and
  • 3 tardies or less

These four expectations are very important for all of our students/staff to know and follow. Students are showing their Lancer PRIDE when they are engaged in learning, participating in curricular as well as extracurricular activities, being on time, showing up ready to learn, and exhibiting positive behavior. At the end of each term we recognize students who exhibit Lancer PRIDE. See awardees  here
The Lance - Student Voice of LHS
