LHS College and Career Center
|

LHS College and Career efforts have been in full swing as we concluded semester one and transitioned into semester two. We started off the year of 2021 off with course registration in all science classes. This process can be challenging as so many students have a specific track towards graduation. We are proud of all our Lancers and LHS staff for tackling this task as a team.
- As we transition into the month of Feb/ March we continue to expose students to options beyond LHS. Our 10th grade class will be going through a virtual post high school options fair to learn more about all options beyond LHS and hear from Lancer Alum on their experiences. Our 12th grade class is getting some extra “love” around planning for their futures. We are working with a variety of amazing LHS staff teams to check in on Seniors progress and the support needed to wrap up any plans for success after graduation.
LHS College and Career Center is open from 11:30-1:00 every MONDAY(Click here for LHS C/C Center- zoom link)
These virtual center hours will include…
-
College and Career Recruitment Visits- see schedule here
- Individual students supports on college and career task (EX: College applications, resumes, job applications and more)
- Student driven workshops- dependent on student needs (EX: FAFSA, Common App, UW System App, college essay support, organization tips, and more)
If your student would like to request a specific college or career recruiter please advise them to fill out this request form.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us!

Sophomore Orchestra student, Valentine Schneider, let me know about the COVID CELLO PROJECT right before Winter Break. I researched it and informed my cello players of this global event. Valentine was really motivated and joined 400+ cellists from around the world on the last recording, "Concerto Grosso". Once again, Lancers making their presence felt in many ways beyond our building "walls."
Valentine is wearing a white hat and has a grayish/curly art background. She can be seen at:
5:25, 6:09, 6:48, 10:12, and her name is credited at 12:13. Yes it does say Columbus, WI, as Valentine lives in Columbus but made/will continue the commute from Columbus to attend La Follette. - 3rd row from the top, 4th in from the left.
L's up - Enjoy this piece while you do some grading. Thanks for supporting La Follette Music and Performing Arts.
