• REFLECTIONS What is REFLECTIONS? A National PTA program that seeks to ignite creativity and recognize students for their original pieces. How? Each year a theme is presented from which the student can "reflect" upon and create a piece of art, literature, dance, film, photography, and/or music. Who? This program is open to all students. Some will be participating through their Art and English classes, but we encourage everyone to submit a piece in one or more categories! This years theme? ACCEPTING IMPERFECTION. • WATCH D.O.G.S. DINNER & ORIENTATION Dads of Great Students! This event was postponed on account of the weather! Click HERE to sign up for Dinner and Orientation October 17 if you weren't able to make it for the last date but are able to join! • PTSA GENERAL MEETING New date! Please join us for our next General Meeting on Wednesday, October 30th at 9:15 am in the auditorium. BRING YOUR OWN CUP. We'll have coffee again which was welcomed by many, but join in REDUCING our waste!

• LANCER PJ PANTS We still have PJs at the school store for pickup! Do not forget to come by before November 1st.

• CAMPUS CLEANUP Our first campus cleanup of the year will take place today. Students can stay after school for a chance to receive community hours. All dates can be found below.

VERY IMPORTANT FROM PALMETTO MIDDLE SCHOOL...

• ONLINE SCHOOL PAYMENTS NOW through Miami Dade School portal, under Apps | Services | Sites, access OSP to pay club dues, lab dues, and pay for ID replacements. Having trouble accessing? Do it with your student through their portal on a desktop.

• UNITED WAY DANCE October 18th. Hosted by our school for our students, and supporting United Way, this is always a fun way to start out the weekend! Tickets for $5 will go on sale at school in the morning and during lunch next week, October 17 and 18! CASH ONLY. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at event. Volunteers needed. Please look out for link shared by our wonderful volunteer coordinator.

• DEVICE CHECKOUT Visit dadeschools.net to insure for $27, sign out and take home a device. Our school is promoting the check out as it facilitates testing and with school work. Students are NOT allowed to test on their own devices.

Last year at Palmetto Middle School? The 8th Grade Fund is busy putting fundraisers and events together to make the send off memorable. Proceeds from these efforts go to reducing the costs of the end of year dance which will take place on Saturday, May 31st at the Thesis Hotel! Questions? Email pms8gf25@gmail.com.

Orders have been distributed to homeroom teachers. As a reminder, TSHIRTS are allowed on Fridays ONLY and Crewnecks can be worn any day. Did you miss the order deadline? We are creating a LAST CHANCE order HERE. Deadline: October 20th.

CLOSE UP TRIP:

Letters went out to students that have the opportunity to go on the Close Up Trip to Washington. Please read instructions on payment carefully. DEPOSITS ARE DUE OCTOBER 29 NO EXCEPTIONS. There is a waitlist, so if the deposit is not received, your child's place on the trip will be forfeited.
