Time to get involved

The school year is off to an amazing start. The halls are filled with smiling faces, construction is moving along and our children are excited to be back in their classrooms. Whether it's at Open House, PTSA, or through volunteer opportunities, we hope to see you all back on campus soon!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & UPDATES

Next Week's Open House

We hope to see everyone at the Open House on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:30 pm.

Remember, it's adults only (no students).

We recommend carpooling as parking is limited.

PTSA Membership Drive & Meeting

We're celebrating 60 years of Palmetto Middle School with a PTSA Membership Drive! Join PTSA within the first 60 days of school to be entered into a drawing for prizes - see membership form for details! Drawing winners will be selected October 17th.

Your PTSA Membership is not tied to any volunteer committments, but rather a way to support the programs & activities the PTSA provides. With General Obligation Bond (GOB) construction in full swing, we are also raising funds to support the purchase of computers for our new computer labs!

We also hope you'll join us for our first PTSA Meeting & Volunteer Orientation on 9/15 at 9:15 AM! Find out about our plans for the year and how to get involved.

Stay for Mrs. Toledo’s Academic Options overview - she’ll guide us in building our child’s academic schedule and laying the path to college! You won’t want to miss it!

Take Time To Listen

We are now participating in the Listeners/Oyentes Program® and looking for volunteers. This program helps identify any student who would benefit from an opportunity to share their feelings with a non-judgmental, non-advice-giving volunteer. We have seen lonely children struggling to connect with their peers, identified children who were falling through the cracks, and we have had the honor of witnessing students discover their own unique gifts that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. It also gives us the chance to observe who is being bullied and who is doing the bullying.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a family & community engagement educational initiative geared toward providing positive male role models for the students and providing an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying on campus. These dads/father figures perform a variety of volunteer tasks throughout the school year.

Membership is free, sign-up to receive email notifications of various needs and volunteer opportunities throughout the school year & save the date for our Watch D.O.G.S. Dinner & Orientation September 22 at 6PM (date and time subject to change).

We love our PTSA volunteers!

Sign-up now to join our PTSA Volunteer database and receive email notifications of volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. NO commitment is required - volunteer as little or as much as you are available. No job is too small!
