Kids love the House of Horror Haunted Carnival. Make a night of it for a good cause!

Those who use the code PMSPTSA when purchasing tickets get $5 off the price and the PTSA gets $5.

Stock the Staff Lounge

Show our staff your appreciation by keeping the Staff Lounge stocked with snacks and goodies! Your family's name will be displayed in the staff lounge as a generous sponsor during a month when your donation is used to stock the lounge! The minimum donation of $50 will allow PTSA to purchase the items for you. If you prefer to sponsor by personally bringing in items instead of donating here, please contact Keri Andrews at pmsptsapres@gmail.com. We appreciate your generosity!

National PTA School of Excellence

We did it again! Palmetto Middle is proud to be a National PTA School of Excellence. A School of Excellence has a sustaining school board that consistently exercises best practices in governance, leadership, and learning. We are so grateful to our community for believing in our mission and supporting the important work we do! #ptaexcellence

We hope to see you Thursday, October 19th at 9:15 a.m. for our monthly PTSA Meeting.

Also, if you haven't done so yet, please sign up to be a PTSA member or renew your membership now. Your contribution helps support our students, teachers, and families. We can't do this without you.

REFLECTIONS

We are excited to kick off the Reflections Program at PMS! This year's theme is "I am hopeful because.…” Students may enter a submission in one or more of the 6 categories. They are Visual Arts, Music Composition, Literature, Dance Choreography, Photography and Film Production. The guidelines for the submission and the entry form can be found here.

Palmetto Middle School is participating in The Listeners/Oyentes Program®. In the world we live in, the objective of The Listeners/Oyentes Program® is to identify any student who would benefit from a consistent, weekly opportunity to share their feelings with their non-judgmental, non-advice giving Listener/Oyente volunteer, not just those students who appear to have been identified with behavioral issues.

Volunteers have seen lonely children struggling to connect with their peers, identified children who were falling through the cracks, and we have had the honor of witnessing students discover their own unique gifts that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. Once the student is comfortable with the safe space the Listener/Oyente has created, there is an opportunity to observe who is being bullied and who is doing the bullying. By becoming a constant in their student’s ever-changing world, the Listeners/Oyentes play a unique role in their lives. If you want to volunteer for this important program, click here.
