STRONG FINISH

As 2023 comes to a close, it’s clear that this year marked a dramatic shift away from land markets that were fueled by pandemic-related drivers. Instead, a much different scenario emerged as rising interest rates and limited inventories became two of the key factors.

The third factor was, is, and always will be — value. With this criterion as our hallmark, it’s no surprise that a spate of landmark transactions closed. They ranged from world-class sporting properties to critical conservation tracts and record-setting auctions.

We will, of course, be chronicling these standout sales in our annual Deals of the Year issue, which goes to press this spring. Till then, permit me to share with you last year’s greatest hits.

Happy New Year!
