MONUMENTAL SALE
The $20 million acquisition of President James Monroe’s historic estate, Oak Hill, by The Conservation Fund did more than just make history. It preserved it as well. It’s a big win for all Americans, in particular, those lucky enough to call Virginia home, because the 1,200-acre estate was the last large, open-space block separating the developed part of Northern Virginia from the historically agrarian part.
Congratulations to The Conservation Fund, its funding partners, and the many other Deal of the Year honorees on their celebrated achievements.
