Whatever the weather, a good book is great to have on hand

Our Piccabeen Bookshop is well stocked to tempt all readers with books that are just right for every season of the year.

The funds generated by this shop are crucial in supporting our work financially. Our volunteer staff are very friendly: do drop in to say hello and buy a book or two.

Our wildlife and rainforests need Landcare, and Tamborine Mountain Landcare needs you!

Look out for your personal reminder email letter, coming soon from our president, Judith Roland. The letter will provide individual and family rates and details about your options for payment. Please keep an eye on your junk / spam folder, in case it ends up there.

Your membership is helping us restore our mountain's rainforests, provide habitat for its wild creatures, and make our waterways more healthy.

Here's a different volunteering role that could interest you, particularly if you live close to the sites listed below.

Several of our regenerated sites are crossed by tracks, which are well used by locals and visitors. Track Trackers take regular walks through the tracks of one or more of these sites, to check that the track is still easy to find and is clear of fallen branches or other obstacles. You're not required to undertake any heavy work. Just make a quick text or phone call to our president, Judith Roland, with a brief report on the condition of the track. Judith will then organise for any work to be carried out.

Get in touch with Judith (0429 808 206) if you'd like to be involved.

Sites needing Track Trackers:

*    Ohia Court Reserve (corner of Ohia Court and Long Road)
*    Tamborine Heights Park (Contour Rd)
*    Areca Gully (Contour Rd)
*    Kinabalu Prospect (Contour Rd)

Mountain Young People as Co-researchers
Icon for Save Trees message

TM Landcare is fortunate to be involved in an Australian Government Dept of Industry, Innovation and Science National Landcare Project, called Empowering Young People to Engage with TM Landcare Reserves.

In this program, young people (7-14) are trained to be co-researchers in investigating young people's awareness of, attitudes towards and participation in TM Landcare sites. They will also co-design resources and strategies to encourage young people to engage with the natural environment.

Research workshops will be held at the TM Landcare Shed, Hartley Rd on 18th, 20th, 25th, 27th February, 3.30-6.30pm.
