Thanksgiving is just around the corner - a time for family, friends, football, and that delicious turkey! The problem, at least in our family, was creating the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. I mean a dinner without disasters! Like the time my dad carried the turkey to the dining room for my husband to carve and promptly dropped it on the dining room rug. (We brushed off the carpet fuzz and ate it anyway.) Or the time when someone upended a whole bottle of red wine across the white linen tablecloth. Or the time my aunt opened up a box of stuffing and mealy bugs came out of the box. I am not making this up! Or the time…well, you get the idea. Our family laughed often about our Thanksgiving disasters.  No one really cared because we were all together enjoying the day—thankful we had each other to love. Many of those who used to sit at the table are gone now, including my husband, but I am still looking forward to Thanksgiving because I get to share it with my Landlovers’ friends. I am thankful for your love and support for both me and the organization. I hope to see all of you at the Dec.10 cocktail party at Oakridge, and I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving - one without disasters.
