Labor Day has come and gone. This is the time when Landlovers’ events start to ramp up for another year of fun and fundraisers. Activities are on a slower pace this year due to the Pandemic. However, plans are being worked on by your board for “masked” fun and for “social distanced” fundraising (with intake already in progress). Kerry Ufford and Margy Hatch are working with Marguerite Baxter and her team to combine a Holiday Cocktail Party with our kick-off event in December. Not to be missed is Pro-Am Golf the week of September 26th. This is one of the first golf events that will allow limited spectators. Hopefully, you have already purchased your Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am Raffle tickets. Laurie Milano and Mary Schmidt have a host of activities for the year. See some of the activities described in the newsletter.

The philanthropic needs in Savannah and on the island have never been greater, and we are working to raise funds to help meet these needs. I was pleased to be able to give a recent grant to the Marines for the ‘Toys for Tots’ annual campaign. The needs in all areas are sure to be greater in the time of the Pandemic. Chris Lanigan and Gail Tomassini are working to develop fundraising activities that will work in these unusual times. If the Flea Market cannot proceed as normal due to health risks, we will continue to use our auction partners and Auctionmania for raising money. Stay tuned for more information on this year’s fund raising efforts.

The best way you can help will be by renewing your membership to Landlovers. You can renew your membership by using the online form or tubing a printed membership form (click here for the printed form) to Cindy Altman, 14 Mercer Road, Savannah, GA 31411.

In addition, you can make a cash donation to Landlovers (https://www.landingslandlovers.com/donate/), and please be sure to donate your furniture, cars, boats, motorcycles, etc to the Flea Market Pre-Intake, where we’ve partnered with a local auction house for the period leading up to the 2021 Flea Market Intake. If you would like more information on how to donate, please email: [email protected].

Warm regards,
John
