BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces the extension of short-term intermittent lane closures from Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. The lane closures
will affect northbound and southbound traffic on LA-23 between Dale Ave. and Barriere Rd along with the Engineers Rd detour.
The requested LA-23 single lane closures will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Sunday.
This request coincides with continued work throughout LA23 and adjacent roads for X Street Ramp and associated work including LA-23 medians and Engineers Re. island for final configuration. Traffic will be redirected into the final configuration after the current phasing and is subject to change if/when the final
traffic switch occurs before this period expires.
