Bridge Group 18C_R – Frenchtown, East Greenwich/ North Kingstown
Traffic is now back to its original configuration on the Frenchtown Road (Route 402) bridge over Route 4 in East Greenwich as we wrap up our work and return the bridge to pre-construction conditions. During the daytime next week, we’ll have alternating lane closures on the bridge for roadway and general site cleanup work, Monday – Friday, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Down on Route 4, we’ll have alternating lane closures in each direction, from Exit 5 to Exit 9, for site cleanup and barrier work in the median, Sunday – Thursday nights, from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone.

I-95 15 Bridges, Providence/Cranston/Warwick
Next week, motorists can expect alternating lane closures along the I-95 corridor, from Park Avenue to Thurbers Avenue, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as road and bridge construction takes place in multiple locations.
Last week we finished installing steel beams on the first side of the Eddy Street Bridge in Providence. Crews will now continue building the new bridge deck before eventually putting traffic back on it. We’re scheduled to install steel on the new Pawtuxet River Bridge South structure, which carries I-95 North traffic over the Pawtuxet River in Cranston. Bridge construction will also continue at the Route 10 and I-95 interchange in Cranston, as crews work to build the new Huntington Viaduct.

The I-95 ‘Missing Move’ and Quonset Ramps Construction, North Kingstown/East Greenwich
Next week, motorists can expect alternating lane closures for milling of pavement on Route 403, from Post Road to West Davisville Road in North Kingstown, Sunday – Thursdays nights, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Crews will be paving what will be the new Route 403 West off-ramp to West Davisville Road on Thursday night, July 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists can expect right lane closures for paving on I-95 South in advance of Exit 24A (Rte. 2/Quaker Lane) in West Warwick, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Also in West Warwick, crews will be making traffic signal improvements requiring alternating lane closures on Quaker Lane in the vicinity of I-95, Tuesday – Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Looking ahead, on Friday night, July 31, we’re scheduled to shift all traffic to the right on I-95 South at the Route 4 interchange in Warwick and East Greenwich to create a safe work zone in the median through next summer as we work to complete drainage improvements and construct the northern pier for the new flyover bridge from Route 4 North to I-95 South. Post Road & West Main Street Curb & Sidewalk, North Kingstown
Daytime and overnight work continue as our contractor makes drainage improvements on Post Road.
Next week, we’ll have alternating one-way traffic with narrowed lanes on Post Road, from Camp Avenue to Oakdale Avenue, Sunday – Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. – 6 a.m., as well as alternating lane closures during the daytime, Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick
Bridge Group 51B: I-295 area
Next week, motorists can expect temporary ramp and lane closures for ongoing road and bridge improvements in Cranston. We’re scheduled to temporarily close the I-295 North to Route 37 West (Exit 3A) ramp, as well as the I-295 North on-ramp from Route 37 East, Sunday – Tuesday nights, July 26 – 28, from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. Additionally on I-295 North, in the vicinity of Route 37, we’ll have alternating lane closures. Sunday – Thursday nights, July 26 – 30, from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Bridge Group 51C: I-295 to Pontiac Avenue and from Amtrak to Post Road
Overnight next week we’re scheduled to close the right lane on Route 37 West over the Amtrak train tracks, near Jefferson Boulevard, for ongoing bridge work, Sunday – Thursday nights, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. During the daytime, we’re continuing our work to reconfigure Post Road underneath Route 37 by installing curbs, sidewalks, and electrical conduits, Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Route 146 Bridges, Lincoln
Next week, motorists can expect alternating lane closures on Route 146 North and South at the Breakneck Hill Road and Twin River Road Bridges to perform a bridge inspection on the Breakneck Hill Road Bridge, as well as drainage and guardrail work, Sunday – Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
We’re nearing the end of this reconstruction project on Route 146, as crews work during the daytime and nighttime putting the finishing touches down on the final pavement on sections of Route 146, as well as the intersection of Sayles Hill Road.
Overnight next week, paving operations continue Sunday – Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. This will require the full or short-duration closure of Route 146, from Route 99 to the Spring Brook Bridge. Several temporary ramp and intersection closures will also be required, including Exit 6 (Rte. 246) off Route 146 South, the on-ramp (Exit 7) from Route 116 North to Rte. 146 North, the I-295 North on-ramp (Exit 18B) to Route 146 North, and Exits 8A, 8B and 8C from Rte. 146 North. Additionally, left turns and travel under the Sayles Hill Road Bridge will not be permitted from Route 146 North at Sayles Hill Road. The west side of Sayles Hill Road, from Route 146 to Iron Mine Hill Road, also will be closed and westbound traffic from Route 99 will not be allowed.

School Street, Lincoln
Our contractor continues to install curbs, sidewalks, and a new drainage line on School Street, from Main Street to Berkshire Drive. From Berkshire Dr. to Kennedy Blvd, School Street is cut down to road base and is being graded so the asphalt base can be paved next week. School Street, from Old River Road (Route 126) to Main Street in Albion, remains open to local traffic. Through-traffic is continuing to follow the signed detour Monday – Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Warwick Corridor Project
On Saturday, July 25, we need to temporarily shift lanes to pave driveway aprons on Main Avenue heading eastbound, from Industrial Drive to West Shore Road, from 7 a.m. to noon.
Next week, we will continue our work to replace the curbs, sidewalks, and driveways, which will require us to temporarily shift lanes on Main Avenue, from Greenwich Avenue to West Shore Road, on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Post Road heading northbound, from Main Avenue to the Airport Connector, we need to close the right lane as we continue replacing the curbs and sidewalks on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In-water construction continues at this project during daytime hours. Crews also are continuing work on establishing a construction platform in the river on the Providence shoreline to support foundation work.
We are installing 32 drilled shafts that will form the foundation of the new bridge. Each shaft will extend approximately 130 feet to bedrock, creating a support system for the bridge's piers and abutments. Vibration and noise monitoring as well as erosion control are in place.
Next week on Tuesday night, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. we’re scheduled to close the right lane on I-195 East, from Exit 2C to the Mass. line for drainage structure repairs. On Thursday night, we need to close the right lane on the Washington Bridge, from Exit 1A to Exit 1B/C for electrical work, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In August, we’re scheduled to close the right lane on I-195 West, from Broadway to the Washington Bridge for brush cutting along the embankment, Tuesday night, August 4, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. We’ll then return the following week on Tuesday night, August 11, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., to perform the same operation on I-195 East, from the Washington Bridge to Exit 2C.
