Chamber Applauds Township Mayor and Council For Mobile Business License Move
The Langley Chamber is applauding Mayor Woodward and Township Council for supporting a request to expand access to "mobile" business licenses for Langley businesses. On Monday, Council directed staff to work on getting the Township included in the "Metro West" business license program, which includes Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey and Delta, allowing Township businesses to work across all 6 of those cities without having to apply and pay for individual licenses -- saving both time and money. Preparing for the GST Holiday Next Week
The Canadian government has announced a temporary suspension of the GST on select items from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025. Businesses which sell the eligible items need to be prepared to not charge the GST on those items during this window.

Langley Chamber On CKNW, Calls for Government to End Canada Post Strike
The Langley Chamber joined Jody Vance on CKNW Thursday to discuss the ongoing Canada Post strike, as it nears three weeks of the postal service being shut down. Canada Summer Jobs Funding Program Open Now for Applications
The 2025 Canada Summer Jobs Program Call for Applications is open, and will be closing earlier than usual on December 19. The Canada Summer Jobs program provides funding to not-for-profits and private businesses to create summer positions for youth, with the program funding all or part of the wage. This is a useful opportunity to get wage support for jobs you need done between April and August of next year! Read more >
