Langmaid's Island Appeal Update
The Local Planning Appeals Tribunal (LPAT) hearing about the proposed development of Langmaid’s Island began on Monday February 1. The hearing is being held virtually and is scheduled to last up to 25 days.

At the end of each hearing day, LOBA is posting an updated Witness List, with those witnesses who have already testified struck out. You will find this on our homepage loba.ca.

Anyone is welcome to listen and/or watch the proceedings, which generally run weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an hour break for lunch at 1:00 p.m. If you tune in, please be vigilant about ensuring microphone and camera are off, so as not to disturb the hearing.

The Township of Lake of Bays is reviewing their Noise By-law and is seeking public input. A new draft by-law based on public input as well as a review of surrounding municipalities will be presented to Council in early 2021. Please let them know how you think the Noise By-law could be improved by taking their short survey at mylakeofbays.ca/noise. From there you can also review the existing by-law and see the Council Resolution directing staff to review the by-law.
