Greetings,
The 2026 Langston Gala was a smashing, sold-out success. With more than 630 guests in attendance, we awarded $125,000 in scholarships to deserving students. That achievement alone reflects the power and purpose that define the John M. Langston Bar Association.
Our honorees — Tiffany Haddish, Rex Richardson, David Herriford, Bart Williams, and Stasia Washington — delivered inspiring remarks that elevated the evening and reaffirmed why Langston’s work remains essential.
I extend my sincere gratitude to our Gala Chair, Nyanza Shaw, and her talented committee for planning and executing a truly stellar event. Their vision, precision, and commitment were evident in every detail.
I also thank our student volunteers for their hard work and professionalism. They represented Langston with distinction and embodied the excellence we seek to cultivate in the next generation.
A special thank you to our Scholarship Chair, Marie Maurice, and her committee for their dedication and tireless efforts. Raising $125,000 for scholarships is no small accomplishment, and their work will directly shape the future of aspiring lawyers and leaders.
To our sponsors and donors, thank you for your generous support of the Langston mission. Because of your partnership, we can operate at the highest level and expand our impact in meaningful ways.
I also thank the 2026 Board for your steadfast dedication and commitment to excellence. Your leadership continues to move this organization forward with strength and clarity of purpose.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Gala. Your presence and enthusiasm made the evening unforgettable.
The Gala was a powerful celebration of who we are. Now, we continue the work, unwavering in our commitment to continue Langston’s legacy of excellence.
