BAHC Holds First Fundraiser for Bay Area Home Modification Fund

For years, Bay Area Housing Corp (BAHC) has acquired and adapted homes to serve as full-time residences to people in the Bay Area with I/DD. It made perfect sense to leverage this hard-earned expertise and expand our services to help individual families make adaptations so their family members with a disability can be more comfortable in their family home.

HCD Looking for Comments on AB434 “Super NOFA”

The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is inviting comments on proposed amendments to the following program guidelines:

  • Multifamily Housing Program (MHP)
  • Joe Serna, Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant (Serna or FWHG)
  • Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention (VHHP)
  • Infill Infrastructure Grant (IIG) (2007)

Advocacy at Brilliant Corners: Fall Advocacy Update

This fall, Brilliant Corners pursued a variety of advocacy initiatives in housing and homelessness policy, across federal, state and local levels. Over the last months, Brilliant Corners participated in several actions on the federal infrastructure bill, engaged statewide on policy recommendations, and continued efforts locally in LA County to ensure full funding for Measure J, a ballot measure passed last fall to address longstanding racial disparities and inadequate community investments in underserved and impacted LA County communities.

Rockwood Apartments Community Resource Fair Makes an Impact on the Lives of Our Residents

An important aspect of IHO’s work is its commitment to provide responsive targeted services, case management, and educational programming that enable our residents to improve the quality of their lives and develop their self-reliance. Services provided are centered on site-specific programming, strong partnerships, and authentic community engagement. Our recent Community Fair at Rockwood Apartments in Anaheim is a great example of IHO’s impact on our residents and the value our partners play in helping to create awareness and educational opportunities.
