I was a special Education teacher for 36 years but have has always been interested and involved in the world of art and music. At the University level, I studied art and architecture in Athens and Rome and then pottery and jewelry- making in NY. I am self-taught in woodworking and hand crafts. These varied mediums provided years of pleasure for me. When I moved to the Myrtle Beach area, 10 years ago, I began studying water media with artists and teachers in the southern region. My work reflects the influences of the many beautiful places I have lived and traveled. I try to bring a fresh and joyful eye to the many scenes and landscapes we live in or pass, daily, in our lives. Much of my work displays texture and movement.
My primary medium is watercolor due to the diversity it can bring to a page. Both the depth of color and light of the sun can easily be transmitted with this medium, It is always my hope that my paintings will spark a memory, in my viewers, bringing them a joyful remembrance."
