Daylight Savings is March 12th

  • Daylight savings time is a great time to ensure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have fresh batteries.
  • Most newer style alarms have 10 year sealed batteries that no longer need to be replaced every 6 months. Simply wait for the end of life chirp to activate and purchase a new detector. Instructions on what the chirps mean can be found on the back of the detector. Normally it is a single chirp every 30-60 seconds.
  • If you have an alarm company that monitors your system, contact them for additional information on your specific system.
  • If you have any non-emergency questions please contact the firehouse at 914-834-0016 Extension 5.
  • For all emergencies call 911.
