The magazine Amerika was a well-produced, glossy, monthly propaganda journal in the Russian language and exported by the United States to the Soviet Union. From 1944-52 and beginning again in August 1956, Amerika depicted idealized culture and news. Amerika was published by the U.S. Information Bureau and was extremely popular in the Soviet Union.
