SHELDON RESERVOIR - THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS AND WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Thank you to all our community volunteers and workshop participants for helping beautify the Sheldon Reservoir. We hosted Sheet Mulching Workshops in November, Community Planting Days in December, and Hügel Workshops in January as part of our ongoing landscape transformation.

When completed, in Spring 2020, the site will feature a Community Demonstration Garden as well as a sidewalk and closed loop path. Part of PWP’s commitment to the community focuses on improving City facilities and beautifying neighborhoods in water-wise ways. PWP DEVELOPS WILDFIRE MITIGATION PLAN
PWP recently developed a Wildfire Mitigation Plan (Plan) in compliance with the requirements set by the California Public Utilities Code Section 8387. The Plan was approved by the City Council on November 18, 2019 and includes various programs, policies, and specific efforts designed to mitigate the threat of power-line ignited wildfires.

Trees around power lines are trimmed to maintain safe clearance to prevent them from growing into or falling on the power lines, which could cause a power outage and possibly spark a fire or break the power line, creating danger to the public. Tree-trimming standards are dictated by state regulations.

The Plan is available for the public to read.
