Larkin Square Activities

With a significant reduction in COVID related hospitalizations and a continual increase of vaccinated individuals, we have seen many of our favorite summer activities return and Larkin Square is no exception.

Food Truck Tuesdays will be returning to Larkin Square starting July 13th, 5-8p and running through August 31st. Dozens of food trucks from Buffalo, Rochester and beyond come together to celebrate a night of food, live music and fun in the square! Enjoy live music on the boardwalk plus beer, wine and other beverages offered by Larkin Square.

Thursdays in the Square began the first week of July with more dates to come! The outdoor bar will be open for refreshments with beer, wine, cocktails and other refreshments. Food is available for purchase from a curated selection of food trucks and food vendors. Live music from 5-8p accompanies the event on the covered boardwalk.

Fitness in the Parks will be in Larkin Square Mondays at 6p (cardio-kickboxing) and Saturdays at 11:15a (Zumba) through September 25th. All are welcome, no reservations needed.

Family Fun Nights offer weekly themed activities, foo from Clifford Red Hots plus an ice cream truck. The Valley Community Association will present these events from 4-7p Mondays through August 23rd.

Chef Darian Bryan, owner and operated of The Plating Society, will be hosting delicious lunches at the "Jerk Hut" every Wednesday in Larkin Square.
Buffalo Police Explorers

Over the last several months a young group of Buffalonians worked their way through the Buffalo Police Explorers. Classes were held at the Larkin Center; allowing the students ample opportunities to hear from a variety of law enforcement agents and participate in mock scenarios.

With the help of volunteers and mentors, Explorers were able to learn first-hand about many different aspects of law enforcement, criminal justice, and discovered the keys to CPR, mental health, physical health, detective work, and so much more. These lessons and skills will help Explorers become true leaders in the classroom, on the field, or wherever they may be!

Through the Buffalo Police Explorers program, members of the Buffalo Police Department volunteer to foster relationships with the youth in our community. Explorers learn valuable skills in leadership, confidence, self-discipline, and the value of community service. Focus areas include academic refinement, career preparation, leadership development, character building, personal fitness, and life experience.
