Nov. 12, 2018

Well, it's been a fairly stressful series of days. You may have heard about the California wildfires. While the one in Northern California is the biggest, the one in Southern California affects me directly. Flames forced my wife and I to evacuate our home last Thursday. Since then, we have been moving from one location to another trying to stay away from the fires. This fire has been truly explosive in its growth. So far, both my wife and I are safe, as is our house. But many others less than a mile away were not so lucky. I'm hoping we can return home by mid-week, but for now, all we can do is wait and wish the firefighters all success. And if you are affected by these fires as well, you have my sympathy and support.

As you might imagine, I've been somewhat distracted the last few days.

I have four new articles for you this week, including a major caution about audio in Mojave. You'll find all the details in the Articles section below.

Also, thanks to the feedback from many readers, I have a new webinar for you on Thursday discussing workflow in Final Cut Pro X. (I'll have another one covering Premiere in a week or two.) This should be a fun session because editing is a whole lot easier when it is organized from the beginning. Join us this week and pick up some tips. As always, our live webinars are free. Sign up here.

The Digital Production Buzz had an interesting conversation about Apple's newest hardware, a new utility that searches everywhere instantly inside Premiere, automated media compression and analytics and a better way to store media for medium-sized workgroups. Click here to listen.

That's about it. I'm hoping things return to normal next week. That would be great. In the meantime, edit well .
