Nov. 4, 2019

The Adobe MAX Conference begins today and, to celebrate, Adobe updated all their Creative Cloud applications. More than 20 different announcements! My lead story today details what's new - including two totally new applications.

Adobe is not the only one releasing new products at MAX - axle ai is releasing ascribe ai, a speech-to-text Extension panel that works directly in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Even better, the panel is free, along with an hour of transcription time. I'm a fan of axle so, in talking with CEO Sam Bogoch, I realized this, too, was worth an article.

Speech-to-text apps are very hot now. Long-time developer, Digital Anarchy, is also updating their Premiere app - Transcriptive - at Adobe MAX. The new 2.0 version works directly in Premiere, no XML transfers, and includes multiple transcription options, clips can be transcribed directly from the Project panel, existing transcripts can be synced to footage, editing text is more like editing in a word processor, and you can now set In and Out points in the transcript, which makes editing interviews a whole lot faster.

Our new web service - The Inside Tips.com - continues growing. We are releasing our fourth Tip Letter - Codecs & Media - this Tuesday. Published every Tuesday morning, each Codecs Tip Letter has tips and tricks on working with media, regardless of which NLE you use. Registration is free. (If you sign up by Monday evening, you'll be on the list for Tuesday's inaugural edition!)

This last weekend, as I was preparing both this newsletter and next week's Tip Letters, I realized that we are now publishing 18 unique tips a week - with more to come! These are ideal resources to discover new ways to work faster.

However, in order for The Inside Tips to be successful for the long-term, we need more folks to sign up. If you haven't joined, learn more here. If you like what you are reading, please tell your friends and followers. Also, you can find us on Twitter and Facebook.  Please help us spread the word!

That's it for this week. I'm looking forward to learning more at Adobe MAX and will share the news next week. For now, enjoy fall. And, until next Monday, edit well.
