Sept. 9, 2019

Tomorrow, we get to find out what Apple has in store for the fall - well, at least as far as iPhones are concerned. Later this week IBC opens. So, while we wait, I have a product review and two tutorials covering features that you may have forgotten about - one for Premiere and one for Motion/Final Cut Pro X.

(Frankly, I can't wait for all the new products to launch. There's not been a lot to write about recently.) First, though, some news.

Zack Arnold is a well-established film and television editor ( Cobra Kai, Burn Notice, Empire, Glee). However, recently, he's focused on dealing with stress and distractions. He's offering a FREE 4-part Masterclass on "How to Build the Habit of Deep Work." I've interviewed Zack many times on the Digital Production Buzz and have always enjoyed his opinions. It doesn't matter if you're an editor, an assistant, a writer, a YouTuber, or.... Learning how to be more focused and master your attention is a metaskill that could change your career. Offer ends Tuesday.

MotionVFX is a developer of effects plugins for Final Cut Pro X. Last week, they launched mFreezeFrame: 59 animated freeze frame modules for FCP X.

Recently, the folks at Wondershare asked if I would be interested in reviewing FilmoraPro - their professional-level video editor. I was interested, so, this week, I have a First Look at FilmoraPro.  Here's the link.

Then, as I was pondering what new goodies will be announced later this week, it struck me that, many times, we don't know all the features in the software we are currently using. So, I have two articles - both on motion tracking - one for Motion, which can be used in Final Cut Pro X and the other for Premiere. You'll find the links in the Articles section below.

Finally, I've updated my article on how to trouble-shoot your system. Apple has given us some new tools and I highlight them here. It, too, is in Articles, below.

That's about it - tomorrow, I'm planning to get an extra large bowl of popcorn and watch Apple. As always, I'll share my thoughts with you in next week's issue. In the meantime, edit well.
