The big news last week was Apple's WWDC 25 keynote presentation. In it, they announced new versions of all their operating systems - from watches to computers.

While I was most impressed with Apple's improvements in iPad OS, the news that I cared about professionally was macOS Tahoe. My thoughts.

I've updated my home page with the latest news - 23 new entries!

By the way, if you are launching a new product, please send me the press release. I'm happy to add it to the list.

Zack Arnold, ACE, is hosting a FREE, five-day virtual summit "Navigating the Future of Entertainment." I've known Zack for years and encourage you to attend. It features candid conversations and insights from world-class experts - yes, Walter Murch is participating - along with strategies for career growth. It's free. It's virtual. And you'll learn a lot.

Now that my website is slowly getting back to normal, I've scheduled a series of webinars on color grading - one each covering Final Cut, Premiere and Resolve.

I start with Final Cut Pro. The color capability of FCP continues to expand. If you’ve been wondering how to read the video scopes, what the color tools do, or how to make your images look better, this session is for you. Registration is always free.

Color grading in Premiere will be Thursday, June 26, and Resolve on Wednesday, July 2. Registration will open for these next week.

At the end of May, I presented a 30-minute fast-paced, truly manic performance demoing more than a dozen AI tools in Final Cut, Premiere and Resolve.

It was the monthly meeting of the LA Creative Pro User Group with 200 people in the audience. We all had a great time! I finally got my hands on the video and can share it with you this week.

You'll enjoy this.

My LACPUG presentation only had time for the highlights. If you want lots more details on how these features work, please check out these two webinars.

These are also available in my Video Training Library.

Repairing the damage to my website is going to take a while. The biggest hits were to server performance, payment processing, and any tutorials written after May 8. Nothing was stolen, but a lot got broken. Work is ongoing. My site is back, but it's still not as fast as it needs to be.

While I'm bothered by apparently losing my most recent tutorials, what troubles me more is losing the comments you made to them. I enjoy writing tutorials, but the real fun, for me, comes in reading the comments as you flesh out what I write with real-world experience. Your thoughts are invaluable, educational, and endlessly fascinating to me.

These comments may not be lost - there is a slim chance we can get them back. But, if not, I will miss them more than anything else. I can rewrite a tutorial, but, what makes my website truly useful is the conversation between us - sharing ideas and tips on what works and what doesn't. None of us knows everything. But, together, we are unstoppable.

Until next Monday, stay hopeful, stay healthy and edit well.

AI-Powered Tools in Apple Final Cut Pro

AI is everywhere – but while generative AI brags about all the ways it will replace people; developers – especially developers of creative software – are looking for ways to use AI as a tool to simplify tasks without replacing the human at the center.

In this session, Larry Jordan showcases the AI-powered tools in Final Cut Pro 11.

AI-Powered Tools in Adobe Premiere Pro

AI is everywhere – but it is not the same everywhere. Each video editing system has implemented AI differently and all of them are developing ways to enable media creators to do more with the tools they have.

In this session, Larry Jordan demos the AI-powered tools in the 2025 version of Premiere Pro.
